A group of Filipino campers in the UAE received praise from government officials for maintaining cleanliness at their campsite in Wadi Shawka, Ras Al Khaimah emirate, last Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Roberto Lucero, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) residing in Dubai, was with his family and close friends when he recounted to The Global Filipino Magazine how they were approached by amiable officers from Ras Al Khaimah. The officers commended the Filipino campers for their practice of cleaning up and disposing of their trash after their camping activities and enjoying the local weather.
Numerous residents of Dubai camp in the Northern Emirates, seizing the opportunity to enjoy the cooler weather and relax away from the bustling city life.
Lucero shared a light-hearted moment with The Global Filipino Magazine, “Biniro p nga kmi ng mga yan sabi samin bawal daw mag tent at mag-camping. Pero sabi samin mga Pinoy daw talaga malinis at di nagsusunog sa grounds, at lagi dala mga kalat.”
He further added, “Sana po eh pamarisan tau ng mga ibang lahi at pinoy na iresponsable.”
