UAE astronaut, Sultan Al Neyadi, currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS) for a six-month mission, shared a heartwarming conversation with his son, Abdulla Sultan Al Niyadi. During a live video conference, Abdulla greeted his father and curiously asked, “What do you like best about Earth?”
Without hesitation, Al Neyadi replied, “You are the thing that I love most about Earth.” Moving to the wonders of space, he added, “But if you mean what I like about space… We can do several things here that you will like, such as flying from one place to another because of the microgravity environment.”
This touching interaction was shared by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre on social media. Captioning the video, the centre wrote: “The son of astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi asked him a question about what he likes the most on Earth, during the event ‘A Call from Space’ – Umm Al Quwain edition.”
According to the National News, this event was attended by Al Neyadi’s father and two of his children, where he addressed heads of state and space enthusiasts live from the ISS.
Social media users couldn’t resist sharing their heartwarming reactions. Comments ranged from praising the beautiful father-son moment to congratulating the UAE for its remarkable achievement in space exploration.
Noteworthy is Al Neyadi’s recent distinction as the first Arab astronaut to undertake a spacewalk during Expedition 69. He and his colleagues are due to return to Earth on September 1, wrapping up their significant contributions to space science.
