UAE among world’s happiest nations, climbs to 21st spot in 2025 index

The UAE has risen to 21st place in the World Happiness Index 2025, surpassing countries like the UK, US, Germany, France, and Singapore, as well as all other Arab nations.

According to the World Happiness Report 2025, released by Gallup, the UAE also ranked 16th globally for charitable donations and 19th for volunteering. However, it placed 67th in terms of assisting strangers. Notably, the country ranked 12th worldwide in trust, based on beliefs about a stranger returning a lost wallet.

The rankings are based on a three-year average of each population’s self-assessed quality of life.

Finland maintained its top spot as the world’s happiest country for the eighth consecutive year, followed by Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, and Lebanon were among the lowest-ranked nations in the report.
