UAE: 995 companies fail to meet Emiratisation targets

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in the United Arab Emirates has disclosed that nearly a thousand companies have fallen short of meeting the Emiratisation targets. Since mid-2022, a total of 995 companies have been identified for not adhering to the national policy aimed at increasing the employment of Emirati citizens in the private sector.

The issue has been compounded by a growing number of fake Emiratisation cases, now totaling 1,660. These cases involve practices that falsely represent compliance with Emiratisation quotas, undermining the policy’s objectives.

The Ministry has imposed stringent penalties on the violating companies, with fines ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh100,000, depending on the severity and specifics of each case. This move is part of a broader effort to enforce compliance and ensure that the Emiratisation policy is effectively implemented across various sectors.

The announcement was made through a post on the Ministry’s official social media platform, X. Alongside this disclosure, the Ministry called upon relevant stakeholders to refrain from such detrimental practices and to align their operations with the national Emiratisation goals.

In an effort to foster community involvement, the Ministry has also encouraged the public to play an active role in monitoring and reporting non-compliant practices. People can report any activities they believe to be in violation of Emiratisation policies and decisions either by contacting the Ministry’s call centre or by using the Mohre app.
