A two-year-old boy tragically died after falling into a pot of boiling batchoy in Barangay Pantalan, Carles, Iloilo, on Thursday, August 8.
According to the Carles police investigation, the child was playing near the kitchen when the incident occurred. His mother had temporarily placed the large pot on the ground while preparing another dish. Unaware of her son’s proximity to the pot, the child accidentally fell into it.
The boy sustained severe fourth-degree burns over most of his body and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Despite receiving medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
