Two workers were killed, and three others were injured when the roof of a school under construction in Kalba City, Sharjah, collapsed on Sunday, September 8, according to Sharjah Police.
Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Khamoudi, director of the Eastern Region Police Department, confirmed in a Khaleej Times report that emergency response teams acted swiftly to provide first aid to the injured, who were of Arab and Asian nationalities. The injuries ranged from mild to moderate.
The bodies of the two deceased workers were recovered from the site. All specialized teams, including the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, Kalba Police, Crime Scene Team, National Ambulance, and Kalba City Municipality, were involved in the response.
The injured workers were treated on-site before being transported to the hospital. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident, Sharjah Police stated in a social media post.
