Tragedy struck on a provincial bus in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija, when two passengers, a man and a woman, were fatally shot while asleep on Wednesday afternoon, November 15.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on a southbound Victory Liner bus. As the bus passed through Barangay Minuli, two unidentified men in the rear stood up and approached the victims, who were seated in the front near the conductor’s side. The assailants, who were wearing face masks, fired shots at the victims’ head and neck, resulting in their immediate deaths.
After the shooting, the gunmen forced the bus driver to stop the vehicle along Maharlika Highway, close to a river, before making their escape.
The bus driver promptly notified the authorities. The police have launched a follow-up investigation into this shocking crime.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, the incident was captured on the bus’s dashcam. The footage has since gone viral, drawing widespread attention to the case.
