Two police officers, Lieutenant Muhammad Obaid Mubarak and Lieutenant Saud Khamis Al Hosani, tragically lost their lives in a traffic accident while responding to a report of a vehicle breakdown in Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Police General Command confirmed on Friday.
According to Khalej Times, the officers were posthumously promoted from first policemen to lieutenants in recognition of their service. In a ceremony, the families of the fallen officers were presented with the Medal of Duty by Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, who commended their dedication and commitment to protecting lives and property.
On his social media account on X, Sheikh Saif wrote, “They (Lt Mubarak and Al Hosani) were beacons that shone the path of loyalty and sincerity, and the best positive role models for the people of the Emirates.”
