Two regular buyers of the Dubai Duty Free promotion have each won US$1 million in the latest Millennium Millionaire draw. Kyriacos Michaelides, a Cypriot based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Abdullah Alsayed from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, took home the grand prize.
Michaelides, 43, purchased his winning ticket on September 5 while traveling to Paris. A dedicated participant for over 10 years, he runs a distribution business in Johannesburg. Expressing his joy, he said, “After more than 10 years of religiously purchasing tickets, I’m glad to have finally won.” He becomes the second Cypriot to win the prize since 1999.
Alsayed, a 65-year-old father of five, bought his ticket online and has been participating for over 20 years. He plans to invest his winnings in a business and use part of it for his children’s education. He is the 14th Saudi national to win the prize.
In the accompanying Finest Surprise draw, Peter Svenning from the US won a Bentley Bentayga V8, while Ebin Thankachan, an Indian based in the UK, won an Indian Scout Bobber motorbike.
