Pastors Dimver Andales and junior pastor Jether Nonot were arrested in connection to the murder of Mr. Cagayan de Oro 2023 contestant, Adrian Fornillos, as per GMA Regional TV One Mindanao’s report.
The Agora police apprehended the two pastors in Barangay Lapasan under a warrant for murder charges. This case dates back to last May, following the shooting of Adrian Fornillos. There were widespread rumors suggesting Andales had ties with the victim and his girlfriend, Jone Leanel Orog. Social media platforms were abuzz with alleged conversations from Adrian’s phone hinting at a possible romantic link between Orog and Pastor Andales.
Despite the circulating speculations, Andales’ legal team has been steadfast in denying all allegations. They’ve repeatedly stressed Pastor Andales’ innocence and are prepared to tackle the charges head-on. In September, Andales received a subpoena and was given a 10-day window to address his alleged involvement in the Fornillos murder case.
Nazareth Police Chief, Captain Byron-John Ratunil, commented, “The names surfaced based on the evidence we’ve gathered and through our case process build-up.”
Atty. Robert Maestre, representing Pastor Andales, expressed concern over the negative impact this case has had on Andales’ pastoral role and his family. As for junior pastor Jether Nonot, there hasn’t been any public statement from his side.
Although the family members of the victim were seen at the police station during the arrest, they refrained from commenting on the situation.
