An altercation at a videoke session in Zamboanga City resulted in two men being injured after it escalated into a knife fight.
According to reports from GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, also covered by Nico Waje on Unang Balita this Tuesday, the incident took place in Barangay Tumaga.
Police stated that a 29-year-old man was singing at the videoke when another man approached him to borrow the microphone for his turn. The first man refused, leading to an argument between them.
Moments later, the second man retrieved a machete and attacked the first man. In retaliation, the first man grabbed a knife and stabbed his assailant in the side.
The barangay officials reported that both men were allegedly intoxicated.
Following the incident, both men were taken to the hospital for treatment. They are expected to settle the dispute upon their release.
No statements have been given by those involved in the altercation.
