Sharjah Police have opened an investigation into the deaths of two men who were electrocuted in the Sharjah Industrial Area, confirming the case to Gulf News.
According to information relayed to Gulf News, the incident was flagged to the police operations room after the men were found unresponsive within the industrial district. Emergency teams attended the site, and the bodies were subsequently transferred to a forensic laboratory, where autopsies are set to determine the precise cause and circumstances of death.
The investigation is unfolding against the backdrop of severe weather that affected parts of Sharjah, including heavy rain and thunderstorms that disrupted power supply in several locations. Authorities said electricity services in the affected area were temporarily interrupted during the storm but have since been fully restored following swift intervention by relevant agencies.
In a public advisory issued in connection with the case, Sharjah Police cautioned residents and workers operating in industrial zones to remain vigilant around electrical equipment and installations, particularly during periods of unstable weather. The police also called on the public to immediately report exposed wiring, damaged infrastructure, or other hazardous conditions to prevent further incidents.
The probe remains ongoing, with forensic findings expected to inform the next steps of the investigation in Sharjah Industrial Area.
