Authorities in the UAE have arrested two men caught in the act of preparing narcotic pills for local distribution, the Ministry of Interior confirmed.
The operation was carried out after the ministry’s anti-narcotics department received a tip-off and placed the suspects under surveillance. Raids were then launched at two separate locations, leading to the discovery of a stash of illegal pills—one hidden in a storage unit, and another batch cleverly concealed inside a mechanical excavator.
During questioning, the suspects reportedly confessed and revealed ties to a drug network operating out of Hamburg, as well as plans to smuggle the narcotics through a UAE port. Officials also confirmed that one of the men had entered the country on a visit visa.
The ministry reiterated its zero-tolerance approach to drug crimes and warned that the full force of the law awaits anyone who dares to exploit the country as a transit point for illegal substances.
