Two killed in Dubai petrol station brawl as authorities probe rare violent clash

Authorities in Dubai are currently investigating a violent altercation that led to the deaths of two Uzbek nationals following a personal dispute between two groups at a petrol station last April.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the confrontation took place when one group arrived to inflate their vehicle’s tyres. According to officials, the victims were suddenly attacked by individuals from another group with whom they had an unresolved conflict. One of the victims was assaulted near a red Mercedes, while the second tried to escape but was later caught and fatally attacked.

A nearby police officer witnessed the chaos and swiftly notified authorities. Dubai Police arrived on the scene without delay, cordoned off the area, and gathered physical evidence. CCTV footage and statements from witnesses were instrumental in reconstructing the events.

The suspects—11 individuals in total—were later tracked down and arrested at a hotel in another emirate. Police said that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to their involvement, citing personal grudges as the trigger behind the violence.

“This was an isolated incident rooted in a private disagreement,” authorities stated, emphasizing that all those involved were previously acquainted.

The case has been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
