A small aircraft attempting an emergency landing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, crashed into a bus, killing two people and injuring two others.
The incident occurred around 7:20 AM local time on Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue in the Barra Funda district. Firefighters discovered two charred bodies inside the wreckage, identified as the pilot and a passenger. A woman on the bus and a motorcyclist were injured by debris and are receiving medical care.
The King Air F90 aircraft took off from Campo de Marte Airport at 7:15 AM, bound for Porto Alegre. Minutes later, it lost altitude and hit a tree before crashing. Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion and seeing a fireball engulf the scene.
Emergency responders quickly extinguished the flames, and authorities, including the Brazilian Air Force and police, are investigating the cause of the crash. The airspace over the area has been temporarily closed.
