Two Filipinos killed in Kuwait house fire, DMW assisting families

Two Filipinos tragically lost their lives in a house fire in Al Adan, Kuwait, earlier this week, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed on Friday.

According to the DMW, the fatalities were caused by inhalation of toxic gases during the blaze on December 2. The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) is currently managing legal procedures and arranging the repatriation of their remains.

Meanwhile, the DMW Regional Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Western Visayas have provided financial assistance and visited the families of the victims in Capiz.

“The Department of Migrant Workers extends its heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and assures them of its full support,” the agency said in a statement.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Reports indicate that six other individuals were rescued from the incident, according to Gulf News.
