Bahraini law enforcement has detained two men, aged 24 and 27, on charges of disseminating religiously offensive material via social media.
The arrests were made by the Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security.
According to official sources, the contentious posts denigrated sacred figures of a specific religious community and were potentially seditious.
The case is now set to be handed over to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings. Authorities emphasized that such acts undermine societal harmony and civil peace.
