Twelve dead in Batangas landslide during heavy rains from Typhoon Kristine

Twelve people have been confirmed dead in Brgy. Sampaloc, Talisay, Batangas, after being buried by landslides triggered by continuous heavy rains from Typhoon Kristine, according to a report from the Talisay Municipal Police Station. Among the victims were two minors and four adults, with the identities of other casualties still being determined.

Rescue and retrieval operations are underway as authorities work to recover more victims. The bodies have been taken to the Old Barangay Hall in Sampaloc for identification. Typhoon Kristine, which has caused widespread destruction across multiple regions, continues to impact the Philippines with heavy rains and flooding.
