Senator Raffy Tulfo has warned TV5 that he will leave his program if management fails to take action on a sexual abuse complaint filed by a 22-year-old talent against News and Public Affairs program manager, Cliff Gingco.
Tulfo expressed his frustration during his show, “Wanted sa Radyo,” on August 9, 2024, after hearing the allegations from the talent, who claimed to have been sexually abused by Gingco. Tulfo was disheartened to learn that Gingco had been advised by TV5’s management to remain silent.
“Serious itong sumbong, e, and we have to treat this seriously,” Tulfo stated, stressing the gravity of the situation. He questioned why Gingco had not been issued a show-cause order, a procedure he and his brothers had faced during their time at TV5.
Tulfo did not hold back, calling on TV5’s management, particularly Vice President Luchi Cruz-Valdes, to conduct a thorough investigation. He emphasized that he would rather resign than tolerate the network’s inaction. “I am more than happy and willing to submit my resignation if that’s what you want,” he declared.
In response, TV5 issued an official statement confirming that they are aware of the incident and are conducting an investigation to determine the appropriate action. The network assured that the rights and welfare of all parties involved would be protected during the investigation.
The complainant alleged that the abuse occurred on July 23, 2024, after Gingco invited him for drinks in Makati City, leading to the incident at a hotel in Pasig City. The talent described his ordeal, noting that he was too intoxicated to resist Gingco’s advances.
