Radio broadcaster Ramon Tulfo has come to the defense of actress and global fashion icon Heart Evangelista after online critics labeled her a “nepo baby.”
On Instagram, Tulfo called on bashers to stop dragging Evangelista’s name, emphasizing that she is already established in her own right. “Leave her alone! Heart Evangelista is a billionaire in her own right, as she comes from the wealthy Ongpauco clan, which owns the Barrio Fiesta chain of restaurants,” he wrote.
Tulfo further noted that Evangelista had already built her career and wealth even before marrying Senator Chiz Escudero. “Before she married Chiz Escudero, Heart was earning a substantial amount of money as a movie actress and influencer,” he added, stressing that she spends her own money. He also mentioned his ties to her family, saying, “I should know; I’m a friend of his uncle Rod Ongpauco.”
Despite no recent projects in film or television, Evangelista remains one of the country’s most sought-after endorsers, with more than 50 brand partnerships. Supporters online also defended her, pointing out that unlike others who splurge on luxury items, she is gifted them directly by fashion houses.
