Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority have temporarily suspended time-based restrictions on heavy vehicles, giving trucks unrestricted access to the emirate’s road network through the evening of March 4, 2026.
The suspension is designed to ease pressure on the logistics sector by allowing transport operators to move goods without the scheduling constraints that normally govern heavy vehicle movement across Dubai.
Normal restrictions will return on Thursday, March 5, with both authorities calling on drivers and freight companies to follow traffic instructions and coordinate with relevant agencies throughout the exemption period.
Not all routes are covered under the measure. The Airport Tunnel and Al Shindagha Tunnel retain their existing restrictions, with authorities citing road safety and traffic continuity along both corridors as the basis for keeping those rules in place.
Officials framed the temporary policy as consistent with broader efforts to reinforce Dubai’s commercial infrastructure and logistical capacity.
