Former senator Antonio Trillanes has submitted a supplemental affidavit to the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice, reinforcing his complaint against Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte and nine others.
The complaint, originally filed in July last year, is linked to the controversial P6.4 billion shabu shipment seized in Valenzuela City in 2017. Among those named in the case are Duterte’s brother-in-law, Atty. Mans Carpio, and former Bureau of Customs chief Nicanor Faeldon.
Trillanes cited witness testimonies alleging that Duterte was involved in facilitating drug shipments during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte. The new affidavit also includes evidence used in the conviction of alleged Customs fixer Mark Taguba, who was found guilty twice in connection with the smuggling case.
Additionally, Trillanes included affidavits from Taguba and former Customs intelligence officer Jaime Guban, further supporting claims that protection money was given to Duterte in exchange for drug importation privileges.
Trillanes reiterated his stance, saying there is clear evidence pointing to Duterte’s involvement, backed by multiple testimonies.
