A devastating fire claimed the lives of an Emirati man and his 12-year-old daughter in Sharjah’s Al Suyoh 16 neighbourhood early Tuesday morning. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community.
According to a report from Emarat Al Youm, the father succumbed to smoke inhalation, while his daughter sustained severe burn injuries. The Sharjah Civil Defence Authority reported receiving an alert about the blaze at approximately 4:27 am.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the young girl in the courtyard and managed to rescue her father from a room. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the National Ambulance team, both lost their lives. The daughter passed away due to her injuries, and the father was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
In light of this tragic event, the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority has urged residents to adhere to fire safety precautions. The importance of installing smoke detectors, unplugging devices before bedtime, and ensuring all household electronics are in good working order was emphasized.
