Two incidents involving tourists taking selfies on moving trains have gone viral, highlighting the dangers of such actions.
In Colombo, Sri Lanka, a tourist leaned out of a moving train to capture a selfie but was struck by nearby plants, causing her to lose her grip and fall. Fortunately, she landed on grass, avoiding serious injuries. Authorities reported that scenic train rides in the area, known for their Indian Ocean views, attract numerous passengers.
Meanwhile, in Thailand, an Iranian tourist suffered severe injuries after hitting her head on a post while leaning out of a train for a selfie. A similar incident in August involved another woman who was knocked unconscious after striking a post and falling onto the tracks. She was lucky to escape without major injuries.
Local authorities have since reminded passengers to prioritize safety and adhere to train regulations.
