Filipino travelers have their sights set on Tokyo, Japan as their preferred year-end holiday destination, as revealed by recent data from Google. The information is derived from the most frequently searched destinations on Google Flights, a popular tool provided by the internet search giant, within the Philippines.
Securing the second spot in this ranking is Singapore, closely followed by Hong Kong. Additionally, domestic destinations within the Philippines, Caticlan, and Osaka, another Japanese city, also garnered significant attention.
Further down the list, the top ten year-end destinations for Filipinos include Bangkok in Thailand at 6th place and Seoul in South Korea at 7th. Kalibo and Cebu, both situated in the Philippines, hold the 8th and 10th positions, respectively, while Taipei in Taiwan secures the 9th spot.
The data underscores the trend of “revenge travel” among many Filipinos, who are eagerly seizing the opportunity to make up for lost time and missed travel experiences during the pandemic.
Japan’s appeal as a travel destination for Filipinos has been on the rise in recent years, attributed in part to the nation’s relaxed visa policy, making it an attractive and accessible choice for travelers from the Philippines.
