Tokyo Haneda has once again set the global standard for cleanliness, earning the title of the world’s cleanest airport in 2025, according to the latest rankings by UK-based air transport rating organization Skytrax. The Japanese international hub secured the top spot, showcasing impeccable hygiene and maintenance standards that have become synonymous with its reputation.
Singapore Changi Airport, a consistent favorite in global rankings, clinched the title of the World’s Best Airport for the 13th time. Alongside this accolade, Changi also received top honors for the World’s Best Airport Dining, the World’s Best Airport Washrooms, and the Best Airport in Asia. “Changi Airport is honored to be named by Skytrax as the World’s Best Airport for the 13th time,” said Yam Kum Weng, CEO of Changi Airport Group. “It is indeed gratifying to receive this recognition, which encourages us to continue striving to provide the best travel experience.”
Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, which previously held the title of the world’s best airport, secured third place this year. However, it did not leave empty-handed, taking home awards for the World’s Best Airport Shopping and Best Airport in the Middle East.
Other notable airports on the cleanest list include Singapore Changi (second), Seoul Incheon (fourth), and Hong Kong (fifth). Japan’s Centrair Nagoya, Tokyo Narita, and Kansai also secured top spots, demonstrating Japan’s dominance in cleanliness excellence.
Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the world’s busiest hubs, was ranked 11th among the world’s best airports. Meanwhile, the government of Dubai has unveiled ambitious plans to invest $35 billion in expanding Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), aiming to increase its passenger capacity to 260 million annually upon full completion. The first phase, set for 2032, will accommodate 150 million passengers per year.
