In the latest release of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, three Philippine universities have significantly improved their standings.
The University of the Philippines (UP) maintained its position as the top-ranked Philippine institution, rising to 336th place from 404th last year.
Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) climbed to 516th place, up from 563rd, securing the second spot among Philippine universities.
De La Salle University (DLSU) also made notable progress, moving to the 641-650 bracket from its previous 681-690 range.
In contrast, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Cebu’s University of San Carlos (USC) saw a decline in their rankings. UST slipped to the 851-900 bracket from 801-850, while USC dropped to the 1,401+ band from the 1,201-1,400 range.
Globally, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) remained the best university for the 13th year in a row. Imperial College London rose to second place, while the University of Oxford, Harvard University, and the University of Cambridge took the third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively. The National University of Singapore was the highest-ranked Asian institution.
