Three OFWs in Northern Ireland receive support from DMW after riot-related threats

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is currently providing support to three Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Northern Ireland who experienced trauma after receiving threats related to recent riots in the area.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac confirmed that the Migrant Workers Office has been closely monitoring the situation and is ensuring the safety of the affected Filipinos.

“The Migrant Workers Office is on high alert to secure their well-being,” Cacdac stated.

In a separate incident, Cacdac also reported that no OFWs were harmed during a recent immigration protest in Los Angeles, California.

He noted that the DMW is maintaining close coordination in L.A., in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to provide timely assistance to Filipinos potentially affected by the ongoing demonstrations.

Earlier, on June 9, the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles issued an advisory urging Filipinos in the area to exercise caution due to the continued protests.
