Three off-duty policemen detained for causing scene at bar, says QCPD

Three members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) were taken into custody and are now facing complaints after they were accused of causing a disturbance inside a bar in Barangay Sikatuna Village.

The incident happened on October 31 along Kamias Road, where bar staff and customers reported a commotion and broken glass on the floor. Responding officers from the Anonas Police Station arrested the three patrolmen, all assigned to the QCPD Mobile Force Battalion, after witnesses pointed them out as those responsible for the disturbance.

Authorities seized two loaded 9mm handguns and police identification cards from the officers. They were brought to Camp Karingal’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit for detention and investigation.

QCPD filed complaints for alarm and scandal, while higher officials ordered further administrative and criminal proceedings.

“We will never tolerate any misconduct within our ranks. Every police officer must uphold discipline and serve as an example to the public,” QCPD Acting District Director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said, adding that accountability is necessary “to preserve the integrity and trust of the organization.”

Philippine National Police Acting Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stressed that due process will move forward. “Sisiguraduhin natin na masasampahan ng kaso ang mga pulis na ito. They must be held accountable for their actions,” he said, noting that law enforcers should be the first to follow the law.
