The organizers of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2024 in Dubai have set a new record by constructing the tournament’s stadium in just 25 days, smashing the previous construction timeline for such facilities.
Typically, building a beach soccer stadium takes between 60 to 90 days, but the UAE 2024 World Cup stadium has shattered this norm.
Scheduled to host the tournament for the second time in history from February 15 to 25, Dubai’s stadium in the Dubai Design District will welcome 16 teams competing in four groups.
Apart from its impressive speed of construction, the beach soccer stadium stands out for its unique features, including a pristine sand arena measuring at least 40 cm deep and spanning 36 meters by 27 meters. The organizers opted for an unconventional location, setting the stage beside the city’s water canal, offering a fresh and urban twist to the tournament.
Beyond aesthetics, the stadium boasts state-of-the-art lighting and a colossal video screen to ensure an immersive experience for fans, whether they’re in the VIP area or the media center.
Jaime Yarza González, Director of FIFA Tournaments, hailed the stadium as the best in the history of the tournament, commending its facilities, construction materials, and the record-breaking construction time.
With a seating capacity of 3,900 spectators and dedicated entrances and exits for each side, the stadium promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans attending the matches.
Despite heavy rains recently, the special sand used in the stadium’s construction ensures that the pitch remains unaffected, demonstrating the foresight and planning that went into creating this remarkable sporting venue.
