The last day of summer has arrived in the United Arab Emirates, with cooler temperatures expected to start prevailing from September 23, Saturday, marking the onset of the astronomical autumn season.
Weather experts predict that residents will witness a noticeable shift in weather patterns in the coming days.
The National Center of Meteorology reports that the country is entering its second transitional period, the phase that bridges the summer and winter seasons.
This period is traditionally characterized by rapid and significant changes in weather, which will become more apparent as the country advances towards winter, starting in late December.
Daytime temperatures will begin to moderate, and nights will become progressively cooler, offering residents relief from the summer heat.
The shift in temperatures will be particularly noticeable during October and November, providing a precursor to the winter season.
A key factor influencing this weather transition is the weakening of the Indian seasonal depression. This change allows the influence of the Siberian air altitude to extend into the region, affecting the climate of the Arabian Gulf at large.
By December 21, the Siberian High will dominate the UAE’s climate, with residents likely to experience a more pronounced shift as the new year approaches.
