Filipino band The Juans is marking a milestone as they celebrate their 10th anniversary, and 2025 promises to be their biggest year yet. Known for hits like “Hindi Tayo Pwede” and “Tama Ka Na”, the band is gearing up to release a full album and embark on an extensive tour in the Philippines and abroad.
“We’re working on a full album that we’re really excited for people to hear,” said lead vocalist and keyboardist Carl Guevarra. “It’s got that familiar hugot that everyone loves, but this time, we’re also exploring new themes.”
The band’s acoustic guitarist RJ Cruz shared how they’re stepping out of their comfort zone. “Each member is stepping up to take a bigger role in shaping the band’s sound this time. We’re trying out new genres and pushing our creative boundaries to bring something fresh to our fans,” he explained.
The tour will allow the band to reconnect with their fanbase, fondly called Juanistas. “We’re looking forward to connecting with Juanistas again,” Carl added. “It’s going to be a year of growth for us and our fans.”
Over the years, The Juans have fine-tuned their sound, crediting their live performances for shaping their music. Lead guitarist Japs Mendoza emphasized the importance of the crowd’s energy. “We love testing new songs in our live shows and seeing how people react. If we’re excited, they’re excited. If we’re feeling something deep, they’re feeling it too,” he said.
For bassist Chael Adriano, their upcoming tracks will continue to explore relatable themes of relationships, healing, and personal growth.
The band also draws inspiration from their faith, reflected in their logo’s three-stripe design, symbolizing resilience and hope. “By His stripes, we are healed. Three days later, He rose from the dead,” Carl often shares about its significance.
