The heat is unreal: UAE torches records with 51.6°C blast

The UAE has recorded its highest temperature of the year so far, with the mercury soaring to a blistering 51.6°C on Wednesday afternoon in Sweihan, Al Ain.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed that the record temperature was logged at exactly 1:45 PM, marking an intense start to the summer season and highlighting the region’s extreme climate conditions.

With the heat index spiking, authorities are urging the public to prioritize their health by staying well-hydrated, limiting outdoor exposure—especially during peak midday hours—and remaining vigilant against symptoms of heat-related illnesses.
