A man dressed as a food delivery rider was reportedly hired to fly from Thailand to Singapore just to pick up a Hainanese chicken rice order for a Thai customer.
This extraordinary trip was captured by a fellow passenger, Thita.vy, and shared on TikTok last Saturday. In her video, the man, wearing a GrabFood uniform and holding his Thai passport and boarding pass, is seen preparing to board his flight. Another snippet showcases him securing his food delivery bag in the plane’s overhead bin. The video ends with him arriving at Singapore’s Changi Airport.
Thita disclosed to 8world that she first saw the man on October 12th at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. She was initially puzzled when she saw him in his delivery attire at the airport. However, she later learned from the man that he was there to fetch chicken rice from Singapore.

Upon learning this, Thita humorously stated that she might request a delivery of bubble milk tea from Taiwan next, in hopes the same rider might be available to fetch it for her.
While the internet buzzed with amusement over the quirky event, some questioned its authenticity. A few skeptics wondered if it was a staged event for views.
Adding to the speculation, a representative from Grab clarified to AsiaOne that the man in the video is not a registered delivery partner with their company. They further mentioned that they currently do not provide such extravagant cross-border delivery services. Their existing “cross-border” service, the 100+ Cities Delivery (BETA), facilitates users in sending vouchers and gifts across over 100 Southeast Asian cities.
AsiaOne is in the process of reaching out to Thita for further insights on the matter.
