As the UAE continues to experience scorching summer temperatures, the National Centre of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory, warning residents of soaring temperatures reaching as high as 47ºC in some parts of the country. The heatwave is expected to persist over the next few days, accompanied by light to moderate winds and a potential haze of blowing dust.
The day ahead is predicted to be fair to partly cloudy, with occasional cloud cover primarily over the eastern regions. While light to moderate winds are expected to prevail, there may be instances of freshening winds that could contribute to the movement of blowing dust in certain areas.
The temperature forecast indicates that the mercury will reach its peak at 47ºC in specific regions. The capital city, Abu Dhabi, is anticipated to experience temperatures of around 43ºC, while Dubai will also feel the heat with temperatures around 42ºC. However, during the cooler hours, temperatures could drop to around 32ºC in Abu Dhabi and 33ºC in Dubai, providing some respite from the relentless heat. The mountainous areas are projected to experience comparatively milder conditions, with temperatures as low as 24ºC.
As evening approaches and Wednesday morning nears, humidity is expected to increase, particularly in coastal and internal areas, potentially leading to fog or mist formation. Humidity levels are predicted to range from 20 to 85 percent in Abu Dhabi and from 30 to 85 percent in Dubai.
For maritime activities, sea conditions are anticipated to be generally calm, with slight to moderate waves expected in the Arabian Gulf and slight waves in the Oman Sea.
