Temperatures could soar to 47ºC as UAE faces fog and dusty winds

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a generally fair day with partly cloudy skies over coastal areas and islands. Low clouds are expected to appear over the East coast in the morning.

Light to moderate winds will blow, occasionally freshening and causing blowing dust in eastern areas. Fog or mist may form in some western regions, with the NCM issuing a yellow alert for fog. The alert warns of reduced horizontal visibility from 2 am to 9 am over coastal and internal areas.

Temperatures could rise to 47ºC, with highs of 32ºC in Dubai and 30ºC in Abu Dhabi. The mercury could drop to 44ºC in Dubai, 42ºC in Abu Dhabi, and as low as 23ºC in some internal areas. Humidity levels will range from 20 to 60 per cent in Abu Dhabi and 20 to 50 per cent in Dubai.

The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will experience slight sea conditions.
