Taylor Swift revealed on Thursday night during her Liverpool concert that her massive Eras Tour will conclude in December. The final shows are expected to be held from December 6 to 8 at BC Palace in Vancouver, British Columbia.
“This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that’s it,” Swift shared with the audience during her “Red” set. Reflecting on the journey, she added, “That feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so much fun for us.”
Swift expressed how the tour had taken over her life, impacting her hobbies and daily routines. “I sit at home and try to think of clever, like, acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear,” she said, highlighting the dedication she puts into the “surprise song” set of her show.
The Liverpool concert also marked a significant milestone, being the 100th show of the Eras Tour. “This has been the most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life,” Swift stated, emphasizing the profound impact of the tour on her life.
Starting on March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, the Eras Tour has spanned five continents and will total 152 performances by its end. The tour has broken numerous records and even inspired a concert tour movie that achieved its own success.
Swift’s announcement marked the first time she publicly confirmed an end date for the tour, which had seen additional dates added throughout the past year. While her future plans remain unclear, fans are eagerly anticipating what comes next from the pop superstar.
Swift continues her European leg of the tour this weekend in Liverpool, followed by a rare Tuesday performance in Cardiff, Wales, and subsequent shows in London next week.
