Authorities in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu are investigating the fatal shooting of a taxi driver whose lifeless body was discovered inside his vehicle in Barangay Mactan.
The victim was found slumped in the driver’s seat with gunshot wounds to the head and shoulder, according to police reports.
CCTV footage showed the taxi passing through the area before its lights suddenly went out and the vehicle came to a stop—exactly where the body was later recovered.
Investigators suspect robbery as the motive, as the victim’s wallet, mobile phone, and earnings from his day’s work were missing from the scene.
Police have yet to identify any suspects, and relatives of the driver said he had no known enemies. The investigation remains ongoing.
