A 55-year-old Syrian businessman, Hassan Almekded, won a BMW 430i valued at Dh265,000 during the Big Ticket draw at Zayed International Airport. The winning ticket, bought on July 31 during a stopover in Abu Dhabi on his return trip from Manila to Kuwait, was Almekded’s first lottery attempt.
Hassan recounted his experience in a Khaleej Times report: “Initially, I was approached by a sales associate during my outbound trip and forgot to buy a ticket. But on my return, the same associate convinced me to try my luck, and I chose my lucky number 19.”
Elated by his unexpected win, Hassan plans to sell the prize car to support his children’s education in Holland. “My instincts told me I would win, and I’m overjoyed I listened. I encourage everyone to try their luck; you might win on your first try, just like me,” he added.
Big Ticket’s ongoing promotion offers customers a chance to win a Range Rover Velar worth Dh325,000 in the next draw. Tickets are available for Dh150, with a buy-two-get-one-free offer at Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport counters, as well as online.
