Suspect arrested in California shooting that killed four, including two Filipinos

Los Angeles authorities have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of four people, including two Filipino siblings, on November 16.

Miguel Sandoval, a resident of Lancaster, was charged with multiple counts of murder for the deaths of Christine Aca-Ac, 26, her brother Janvi Maquindang, 21, Edwin Garcia, 24, and Matthew Montebello.

The victims were discovered with gunshot wounds inside a home that was later set on fire, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office. Christine and Janvi, along with Christine’s fiancé Garcia, were found dead at the scene, while Montebello succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Sandoval also reportedly killed three dogs owned by the victims. Investigators revealed that one person survived the attack by hiding in a cabinet and calling 911, leading to a swift response by authorities.

The motive behind the killings remains under investigation. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office on Monday.
