GMA Network has emerged as the most trusted source of news and information among adult Filipinos, according to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey by OCTA Research.
The survey revealed that 90% of respondents rely on GMA Network for their news needs, solidifying its position as the leading television station in the country. It also received an impressive trust rating of 98%, with only 2% of respondents expressing uncertainty about its reliability.
Trailing behind GMA Network were TV5 at 56%, ABS-CBN/Kapamilya at 41%, PTV at 14%, and A2Z at 13%. Regionally, GMA dominated as the primary news source in several areas, including the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and BARMM, where 100% of respondents in these regions preferred it.
Despite its strong performance, GMA’s lowest usage was observed in the Bicol Region, where only 45% of respondents cited it as their main source of news.
For radio, Bombo Radyo was identified as the most-used station among adult Filipinos, particularly in Mindanao, where 54% of respondents relied on it. Other popular radio stations included Brigada News FM and Super Radyo dzBB.
The Tugon ng Masa survey, conducted from November 10 to 16, 2024, interviewed 1,200 respondents nationwide, providing a comprehensive look at Filipinos’ media preferences and trust levels.
