One of Dubai Mall’s most iconic installations just got a superhero makeover. The famous Diver at the Waterfall Fountain has been transformed into Superman, complete with his unmistakable cape and emblem, in celebration of the regional release of Superman by DC Studios.
This striking tribute was unveiled just days before the exclusive premiere of the film at Reel Cinemas in Dubai Mall, where media and influencers are set to gather for a special screening. Adding to the spectacle, the Burj Khalifa is scheduled to light up with a Superman-themed show on Tuesday, July 8, around 8 p.m.
The Superman Diver will remain on display until July 31, giving mallgoers and fans a chance to snap photos with the hero in flight.
The film Superman, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, marks DC Studios’ first feature under its new cinematic universe. Directed by James Gunn, who also penned the screenplay, the movie presents a fresh vision of the legendary hero—one shaped by heart, humor, and a belief in humanity’s potential for good. It opens in cinemas across the region, including in Dolby and HDR by Barco formats, on July 10.
The film is produced by DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, under Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company.
