A well-known vlogger and municipal employee in Sulu was gunned down Friday night, July 25, outside a coffee shop in Patikul, sparking outrage and sorrow among residents and followers online.
Authorities identified the victim as Mohammad Riza Adela Muksan, more popularly known as Doofz Muksan, 37, a staff member of the Municipal Social Services Development (MSSD) office in Jolo. According to Patikul police chief Major Kier John Leaño, Muksan was riding his motorcycle when he was shot near Shara Coffee Shop in Barangay Umangay.
Images from the scene showed Muksan’s lifeless body lying beside his overturned motorcycle, a grim reminder of the violence that claimed his life.
Muksan was widely recognized not just for his candid vlogs, but also for his work aiding locals in the province. His authenticity and fearless expression earned him both admiration and, by his own admission, opposition.
In a now-pinned post on his social media page, he wrote: “Maraming ayaw sakin kaibigan man o kaaway, kadugo o katropa kasi PRANGKA ako. Pag ayaw ko, ayaw ko!!! Ako lang ‘to.”
The brutal killing has triggered an outpouring of grief online, with many demanding swift action to bring justice to Muksan’s family and community. Authorities say a follow-up investigation is underway.
