As a dedicated student-athlete with a passion for basketball, the transition to a new arena may seem unexpected. Kiefer Deos Reyes, known for his prowess on the court, has recently taken on the challenge of pageantry by joining the screening process for Mister Grand International Philippines, one of the country’s most prestigious male competitions. Set for September 8 at Wesfame Suites, Diliman, Quezon City, Kiefer advanced past the first round but was ultimately shortlisted in the second cut, narrowly missing the chance to become a finalist. Despite this, his journey into the world of pageantry is only just beginning.
“I’m excited to embark on this new challenge,” Kiefer shared. “I’ve always believed in the power of personal growth, and stepping into the world of pageantry is an opportunity to not only showcase who I am outside of sports but to also inspire others to explore new paths without hesitation.”
With hundreds of contestants vying for a spot in the final stages, Kiefer aimed to stand out with his unique mix of athletic discipline, leadership skills, and community involvement. Known for his work with the T3T Basketball Tournament—a project dedicated to supporting unrecognized basketball talents—Kiefer has already demonstrated his ability to lead both on and off the court. His participation in T3T Care, a feeding program for the residents of Barangay Malaban, Biñan, Laguna, following a typhoon, further highlights his commitment to making a positive impact on his community.
For Kiefer, the transition from the basketball court to the world of male pageantry is more than just a personal endeavor—it’s a chance to promote athleticism and sportsmanship on a broader stage. “I want to show that athletes can be more than just competitors. We can be ambassadors for causes and inspire others to pursue their passions,” he explained.
The screening process for Mister Grand International Philippines evaluates contestants based on physical fitness, communication skills, and community impact—qualities that Kiefer already excels in. As a student-athlete, Kiefer brings the discipline and focus honed through years of training and competition. His experience in public speaking and advocating for his fellow athletes has prepared him for the communication aspect of the competition.
Despite not making it to the final round, Kiefer’s supporters remain optimistic about his future in pageantry. “Kiefer has always been a leader, whether in sports or community service,” said one fan. “This new chapter in his life will only strengthen his platform to inspire others.”
While his journey in Mister Grand International Philippines may have been cut short, Kiefer remains undeterred. He views this experience as a stepping stone toward future opportunities in modeling and pageantry. “This is just the beginning,” he said confidently. “There are more challenges ahead, and I’m ready to face them head-on.”
