Struggling with internet voting enrollment? Dubai consulate offers help until May 12

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai has issued a reminder to overseas Filipino voters, highlighting that only five days remain to complete the enrollment process for internet voting in the 2025 Philippine national elections. The consulate’s social media announcement emphasized its commitment to assisting voters who may encounter difficulties in the online enrollment process.

According to the Consulate, Filipinos who need help with their internet voting enrollment can visit the Consulate from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily until May 12, 2025. This initiative is part of the Consulate’s effort to ensure that more overseas Filipinos can participate in the Philippines’ first-ever internet voting system.

This reminder aligns with the recent decision of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to extend the pre-enrollment period until May 10, 2025, following requests from various overseas voter groups. The extension was granted to accommodate those who experienced challenges in enrolling, including lack of information and technical issues.

As of the latest update, over 200,000 overseas Filipinos have enrolled for internet voting, but this is significantly lower than the 1.3 million registered overseas voters worldwide. The online voting period will run from April 13 to May 12, 2025 (Philippine Standard Time).

Voters who wish to participate must first complete the pre-enrollment process through the Comelec Voting Portal at https://ov.comelec.gov.ph/enroll. The process requires them to verify their registration status, provide valid identification, and complete a brief verification procedure.

The Consulate in Dubai is urging all eligible voters to take advantage of the remaining days to enroll, ensuring that they can exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections.
