Strong winds and dust storms expected as UAE temperatures drop this week

The UAE is set to experience a noticeable drop in temperature on Thursday and Friday, accompanied by strong winds and dusty conditions, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Starting Tuesday, the weather will remain clear to partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 30°C and 43°C during the day and 17°C to 24°C at night. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, occasionally becoming active, are expected to blow at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 35 km/h.

Wednesday’s forecast maintains similar conditions, with the possibility of cumulus clouds forming over mountainous regions by afternoon. Wind speeds will remain moderate, with the sea expected to have regular waves in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

On Thursday, the NCM forecasts a significant drop in temperature along the western coasts, with clear to partly cloudy skies. Winds will shift to moderate to active northwesterly, turning strong at times and reaching speeds of 15 to 30 km/h, with gusts of up to 50 km/h. These strong winds are likely to stir up dust in exposed areas, reducing visibility.

By Friday, the Arabian Gulf is expected to experience rough seas, while the Sea of Oman will maintain moderate wave conditions. The NCM has advised residents to remain cautious of windy and dusty conditions, especially in open areas.
