Strong Group Athletics clinched its second victory in the Dubai International Basketball Championship, defeating Al Nasr SC, 99-87, on Saturday at the Al Nasr Club.
The Charles Tiu-led team took control early, closing the first half with a 50-38 lead and extending the advantage to 60-47 midway through the third quarter.
Al Nasr mounted a comeback, cutting the deficit to just five points at 77-72 in the fourth quarter. However, Strong Group responded with an 11-0 run, pulling ahead by 16 with under five minutes left to seal the game.
Chris McCollough led the charge with 31 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Mikey Williams contributed 16 points, while Dave Ildefonso added 13.
Al Nasr’s Harat Mohammed and Marvelle Harris delivered standout performances with 34 and 30 points, respectively.
Strong Group, now at 2-0, is set to face Beirut First on Sunday for its third game.
