SSS warns members against text scams and phishing messages

The Social Security System (SSS) has issued a warning to its members regarding fraudulent text messages and phishing scams that falsely claim to be from the agency. The advisory urges members to be cautious of suspicious messages requesting personal information or containing links to claim supposed benefits.

SSS reminds members not to disclose confidential details such as their SS number, My.SSS account user ID, password, and disbursement account. Scammers have reportedly been using the name “SSS” as the sender in fake messages to deceive recipients.

To verify messages, members are encouraged to contact the official SSS hotline at 1455, email usssaptayo@sss.gov.ph, or visit the nearest SSS branch. Clicking on suspicious links is strongly discouraged, as scammers often use these to steal personal data.

Additionally, the agency warns against engaging with “fixers,” as this is a violation of R.A. No. 11199 (Social Security Act of 2018) and R.A. No. 11032 (Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018).

SSS encourages the public to report scammers and fixers to the SSS Special Investigation Department via email at fid@sss.gov.ph or by calling (02) 89247370 during office hours.
