In a shocking incident reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, a YouTuber from South Korea was arrested for fatally stabbing a rival during a live stream outside the Busan District Court on May 9. The attack occurred at 9:52 a.m., and the assailant immediately fled the scene in a pre-rented car.
The victim, a man in his 50s, suffered cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital shortly after being found. According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, the YouTubers, who both shared content about their daily lives, had a tumultuous relationship marked by insults and physical altercations over the past three years.
The stabbing happened just hours before a scheduled court hearing involving the two, which was related to their ongoing legal disputes. The suspect had reportedly purchased a 30- to 35-cm knife the day prior to the stabbing and had planned his escape, indicating premeditation.
The police have taken the suspect into custody, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
