South Korean actors Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol have called it quits, just two weeks after making their relationship public, a report confirms. The news comes amidst swirling controversies surrounding their brief romance, dubbed a “transit relationship” by critics.
Ryu Jun-yeol’s representatives verified the breakup, stating, “It’s true they broke up. We ask for your understanding as we have nothing else to say except to confirm the breakup.”
The breakup announcement follows Han So-hee’s recent social media post, where she expressed frustration over her ex-boyfriend’s silence amid ongoing controversies. In the post, she mentioned the infamous love triangle involving herself, Ryu Jun-yeol, and Lee Hyeri, urging for transparency regarding the timeline of their relationship. However, Ryu Jun-yeol’s representatives declined her request.
Han So-hee has faced online harassment since the beginning, with speculation arising about Ryu Jun-yeol’s past relationship with Hyeri overlapping their own. Despite taking a break from social media, her return on March 29 sparked further criticism for mentioning Hyeri in her post.
Fans have criticized Han So-hee for her approach to the situation, deeming it rash and unnecessary to involve Hyeri. Dispatch’s previous reports of the couple vacationing in Hawaii also fueled speculation about their relationship.
According to Dispatch, Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol’s relationship began to sour in June 2023, ultimately leading to their split in November 2023 after seven years together. Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol met later in November, gradually developing feelings for each other amidst the controversy surrounding their alleged romance.
